CarbonInstincts Artificial Intelligence Ltd ('CarbonInstincts') is a UK-based software technology SME led by Dr Thorsten Roser (design analyst/commercial manager) and Mr Tony Scotte (technical lead).
Many companies worry about the impact of climate change, and half of UK businesses believe that carbon reduction is unaffordable. However, sustainability promotes financial efficiency, particularly when optimising supply chains, which promotes long-term resilience and business success. Inefficient lifecycle assessments and emission regulations exacerbate costs for SMEs, preventing them from developing sustainable products and reaping the benefits. Improving these assessments is vital for SME growth.
To this end, CarbonInstincts is developing a SaaS platform to support rapid, accurate lifecycle assessments and enhance sustainability, compliance and competitiveness. This will particularly help SMES and UK citizens from regions with lower socioeconomic backgrounds, who lack economic opportunities and are more affected by climate change. These groups also lack information and resources to prepare for, innovate and respond to climate impacts.
CarbonInstincts will be the first to enable SMEs to undertake detailed cradle-to-grave assessments, bypassing the need for expensive, complex digital-twin technology and giving them the benefit of lower costs, time savings and reduced carbon footprints.
