On November 14, 2022, during a meeting with the Chief Minister of Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, the Chinese Consul General in Lahore Zhao Shiren handed over a check worth PKR 30 million on behalf of the Guangdong Provincial Government. The donation was intended to assist with post-disaster reconstruction efforts in the province.
