Grant Description

Streme is a UK-based fintech SME led by a core project team of Paul Jackson (project lead/founder) and Geoff Lay (technical lead).

Existing payroll solutions do not provide workers with immediate access to all their earned pay. This causes financial stress. 20% of employee turnover is attributable to financial pressure, costing US and UK employers ~$300B annually. 28% of workers globally are employed on a part-time or temporary basis, and the gig economy, which is disproportionately impacted by these payroll constraints, is predicted to employ \>43M in the EU by 2025\.

Streme will develop Real-Time Payroll technology that will automate payroll and remove the need for pay days, salary advances and payroll teams. This could save companies ~£150K annually by eliminating the need for dedicated payroll teams.

Streme's addressable customers are digital labour platforms/gig economy companies in the EU. The serviceable market is £16M annually, with the global market worth £1.08B per year. This industrial research project (majority of project will be spent at TRLs 3-5) seeks to deliver a Real-Time

Payroll MVP for limited trials.
