Grant Description

Advancements in technologies for progressing decarbonization through clean energy production have recently captured global attention.

Capturing thermal energy from the environment and converting it into electricity will support a low carbon dioxide economy.

To ensure the sustainable development of reliable and affordable energy across the world, new trends and advancements are necessary for clean energy production and storage systems. High energy consumption by buildings makes a large contribution to the worldwide energy crises.

This proposed project mainly aims to make use of thermoelectric technology to reduce energy consumption in buildings by exploring various possibilities of thermoelectric device designs, modelling studies and hybrid PV-TE systems for development of smart building, and address concerns regarding current systems.

The plan is to make use of thermoelectric technologies in the building structure for air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems and supports green and sustainable energy policies across the world.

It is difficult to achieve all targets (such as excellent performance, good stability, environmental safety and economic feasibility) during the building-integrated thermoelectric study in a well-defined period. However, any fruitful outcome can be helpful to the living world and climate.
