Synapse

Synapse is a stories marketplace designed to help journalists find useful PR pitches and remove the need for the broken system of mass spam emailing of journalists. Soft launched in Sept 2023, Synapse is pre-revenue with 3,000 growing users and has had over 900 stories submitted onto the platform.

PRs are able to submit stories and send them to a curated selection of journalists based on a journalist's current requirement rather than past history. Synapse's insights then provides detailed analytics over and above unreliable views and clicks provided by email tracking.

Meanwhile journalists can use Synapse to search for relevant PR pitches, collate content ideas and receive suggestions via the Synapse matching algorithm. This helps journalists reclaim their inbox and automatically gives PRs feedback, removing the need for chasing emails and calls.

The Synapse platform has been designed in conjunction with media outlets, and places significant focus on the importance of helping publishers, journalists, brands and PRs forge genuine connections.

This innovation project will build on Synapse's early success and support it to enhance its matching algorithm, integrate Generative AI to increase journalism productivity even further, and move Synapse into revenue ahead of a seed investment within 12 months.
