The IntelliWind Doctoral Network will train the next generation of multidisciplinary researchers who will develop intelligent systems that support autonomous wind power plant (WPP) operations.
A team of 16 Doctoral Candidates supported by academic and industrial partners will collaboratively pursue the primary research objective of reducing the role of humans in the decision process, as well as reducing the need for direct human interventions in the operations and maintenance process.
This frees up human resources to carry out more elaborate, better planned, and more efficient operations leading to significant improvement in cost efficiency and increased feasibility of wind farm operations.
The project will trigger a change in thinking in the skills and tasks that are being used in WPP operations from classical engineering tasks to designing, analysing, and interacting with automatic machine algorithms.IntelliWind aims for maximum impact by training professionals that have the skills to drive transformational change in their organisations, by driving the implementation of novel solutions and efficiently transferring new skills to their colleagues.
This is ensured through delivering world-class training focused on ""train the future trainers"" concept where each researcher's impact goes beyond the product of a single person's efforts, as well as providing skills that define the next generation of technical leaders who can deliver transformational changes.
