Grant Description

The ADVENTUROUS project, harmonizes with the European Green Deal's 2030 climate targets and the broader EU ambition of reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.

It is firmly rooted in the pursuit of catalytic trifunctional systems for the transformative synthesis of sustainable advanced fuels (SAF) derived from renewable feedstocks.

The crux of this endeavour rests upon the innovation of two core facets: the integration of catalysts that can seamlessly host diverse catalytic sites and the genesis of an entirely novel synthetic avenue for the production of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF).

This project sets forth on a path towards sustainable development, poised to chart a course marked by a near-zero emission CO2 cycle.ADVENTUROUS leverages the expertise of Dr. Camilla Maria Cova in organic synthesis and green synthesis, complemented under the supervision of Prof. Svetlana Ivanova, with broad experience in multifunctional heterogeneous catalysis at the University of Seville (USE).

The fruit of this necessary collaboration will be the advanced design and application of a multifunctional catalyst able to revolutionize the biofuel synthesis.

What is more advanced technologies such as ultrasound-assisted reactions will be tested for an environmentally sustainable catalyst production and the success of the project will opens a completely new pathways not only to SAF production but also to a numerous starting molecules for fine chemical synthesis.ADVENTUROUS is aligned with the MSCA Green Charter, emphasizing environmental responsibility and sustainable development.

By developing sustainable biofuels and innovative catalysts, it contributes to achieving the objectives of decarbonization, energy efficiency, and increased use of renewable energy sources in the transportation sector.

Moreover, it addresses key challenges of the current energy landscape, as supply scarcity and environmental pollution, by exploring alternative and renewable pathways for fuel production.
