Responding to the critical need across live arts & events for skilled technical and production workers that has seen organisations struggle to deliver work and an increase in work-based accidents, MUTI Live are developing a VR training tool that will allow trainees to develop new skills and then apply them in simulated real world contexts to facilitate inclusive, progressive learning experiences.
Emulating the established success of simulated training environments in other sectors such as healthcare, aerospace, and engineering, MUTI's aim is to provide low-cost/resource but high impact training currently not available.
Recognising challenges in current training models, along with the rapid technological advancements of immersive hardware, this product development will seek to fast forward arts & culture workforce development to a place right on the cutting edge of any training across any sector.
Although contributing directly over £10bn a year to the UK economy (up to £110bn if including wider events that share the same technical production workforce) this is a sector that is struggling to deliver the growth that it has the potential to.
By taking the initiative MUTI hopes to galvanise a sectoral revolution in experiential learning through immersive technologies.
