Grant Description

SEED is a 60-month interdisciplinary, international and intersectoral Innovative Doctoral Training programme provided at IMT Atlantique, co-funded by MSCA programme, academic and industrial partners. It offers 40 Early-Stage-Researcher (ESR) positions spread over 2 calls (2023-24 and 2024-25).

ESRs will be hosted, trained and supervised in one of the research groups of IMT Atlantique and will be seconded, trained and co-supervised by academic and/or industrial partners. By being “bottom-up”, the perimeter of disciplines is intentionally open.

The current list of committed associated partners will be enriched by associated partners to join later the consortium and chosen by the ESRs for the relevance of a possible secondment, training and/or co-supervision.

ESRs have the opportunity to benefit from a doctoral training built on a 4I dimension: (i) interdisciplinarity thanks to interdisciplinary thesis subjects, (ii) international with a mandatory secondment abroad, (iii) intersectoral with short visits to private partners and/or industrial co-supervision and/or an intersectoral secondment, (iv) innovation with topics anchored into real-world challenges; with a new entrepreneurship training and the support of an incubator.

This 4I dimension is complemented with an innovative “7-pillar-based” training programme containing the scientific and transferable skills needed to train the future generation of enablers of change through the major socio-economic transformations.

SEED programme funds interdisciplinary topics, crossing Information and Communication Sciences and Technologies, and/or engineering and physical sciences, and/or human and social sciences.

SEED programme fully aligns with the RIS3 of Brittany and Pays de la Loire Regions and contributes to train the next generation of scientists as ""Responsible actors of change"", equipped with the necessary skills to face future challenges posed by the Societal, Energy, Environmental, industrial and/or Digital transitions.
