The European approach to artificial intelligence (AI) will build a resilient Europe for the Digital Decade by fostering both excellence in AI and trustworthy AI.
This perspective invites us to ask the following critical questions: How can we ensure the development of research that is centered on humans, is in line with the social, cultural, medical, climatic and sustainability issues that are becoming urgent? How to sustain the competitivity of Europe?
What are the skills needed for tomorrows leading researchers in AI?SOUND.AI will answer to these questions through an ambitious research and training program.
The program, driven by Sorbonne University and its 30 educational, research, industrial and network partners, will foster excellence in mobility, training and career development of 30 international PhD fellows.
Together they will develop both fundamental and applied projects and crystallize the communitys efforts around 3 interdisciplinary and intersectoral programs: 1) Changing societies, languages & cultures; 2) A global approach to health; 3) Resources for a sustainable planet. An innovative scientific training, supervision and secondment program will be developed.
It will be complemented by career development activities and training in transferable skills, business and entrepreneurship, open science, gender, ethics,.. by using rich pedagogic methodologies, tailored to each fellows needs.
SOUND.AI has an objective to guide a paradigm shift in the recruitment and training of doctoral fellows with long-ranging and significant repercussions by developing a thoroughly integrated PhD program that more accurately reflects the current and future landscape of AI, crucially enriching the human resources capital base in Europe.
