On April 19, Vice President Chen Runyun attended the online opening ceremony of the "Library Management Training Class in French-speaking African Countries" sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and hosted by the Central Academy of Culture and Tourism Management in Beijing.
The training course lasted 12 days and was attended by 47 senior library management personnel from five countries including Benin, Djibouti, Mauritius, Morocco and Senegal.
China has invited many experts and scholars from the National Library and the Palace Museum to share their experiences and practices in library management and operation, digital library resource construction, and ancient book protection with the trainees through special lectures, exchanges and seminars, and cloud visits.
They jointly discussed with the students the development direction and operation model of digital libraries in the artificial intelligence era, promoted exchanges, mutual learning and practical cooperation in the library field between China and Africa, and promoted people-to-people connectivity and cultural integration between China and Africa.
