Grant Description

Hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite solar cells (PSCs) as a well-known emerging thin-film photovoltaic (PV) technology are developing rapidly owing to their versatile optoelectronic properties.

Outstanding photoconversion efficiency, high specific power (power to weight ratio), compatibility with flexible substrates and low-cost chemical-based manufacturing, and excellent radiation resistance of PSCs make them as a promising alternative for next-generation space PVs.

However, compared with other practical space PVs, such as silicon and III-V multi-junction commercial cells, the research on PSCs for space environment is just in the infancy stage.

The aim of P4SPACE project, is delivering of a sustainable PV technology for any present and future space environment application by developing and scale-up of the PSCs with high performance and durability in the harsh space environments.
