The recent technological and experimental advances in the field of quantum simulation and computation have led to the renaissance of the study of the dynamics of complex quantum systems.
Different interdisciplinary approaches, merging concepts from condensed matter, high energy physics and quantum information, have emphasised the existence of constraints given by quantum mechanics on the time evolution of correlations and the transport properties.
The purpose of this proposal is to tackle several outstanding issues at the intersection of these fields from the perspective of standard quantum statistical mechanics.
The project integrates the Applicant's expertise in quantum many-body dynamics with the Host broad experience in statistical mechanics, taking full advantage of the unique multidisciplinary environment provided by the hosting institution.
The research will be carried out in the perfectly suited environment of the Statistical Physics group at the Laboratoire de Physique de l'Ecole Normale Superieure with Prof. J. Kurchan.
Ecole Normale Superieure; Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique CNRS; Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior University
