Metal-oxide dispersions are used in a wide range of applications, but have not been exploited at all for the removal of agricultural atmospheric pollutants such as ammonia and PM2.5.Codikoat proposes using a novel combination of metal-oxides and a scaffold that generates a small charge when exposed to light.
This will create, in effect, a molecular filter that will be able to trap and convert pollutants such as small particles and ammonia.
By applying this scaffold to materials used in agricultural air handling as LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation), extraction and ventilation systems, we aim to produce a cost-effective and efficient way of cleaning air in the agricultural setting.This three month project will demonstrate the technical and commercial feasibility of this technology, prior to real world testing in Phase 2\.
