Data Duopoly is on a mission to creatively revolutionise the visitor experience in towns and cities, to celebrate independent shops, creative events and cultural hubs on the high street. We solve the issue of visitors and residents not knowing about things happening in their town, and help them arrive there via sustainable transport options
The high streets have been severely affected by Covid-19, accelerating the decline in visitor numbers, which currently stands at over 10%, accounting for over 240,000 job losses on the high street. Being based in Cornwall, we understand the impact that tourism and any downturn can have on an area, and we aim to provide a long-term solution to drive economic and social benefits to an area.
This project will allow us to innovate and provide a truly seamless experience for visitors, residents and users of the high street, by plugging-in our exploration app into existing transport providers app, to encourage people to use public transport to explore.
In this project 'XplorTOWN', a world-first footfall monitoring mobile app which uses behavioural economic nudges to help actively manage footfall, will allow us to build out our API which can connect with public transport options to highlight sustainable transport choices. We will develop our mobile app plug-in which can then be scaled across towns, cities, railway station hubs, shopping centres and more.
XplorTOWN gathers location data insights, using this to increase economic activity in a place by encouraging exploration and community engagement. We will highlight events happening and showcase unique experiences at independent shops helping the creativity of small business thrive. Visitors benefit from a gamified and tailored experience.
Businesses benefit from increased revenue driven by relevant footfall. Towns and councils will benefit from valuable data analytics to help operational and strategic planning, especially where to invest to transport options around town.
