De-risking activities for the validation of Ecosaf technology for new biobased surfactants for detergent applications

EcoSAF is a new class of biobased surfactants derived from waste biomass.

The main advantages of EcoSAF lie in its green credentials (derived from waste, non-toxic, biodegradable, environmentally friendly), its entrance into the circular economy and reduction in CO2 emissions associated with its use as a detergent. It also has the further advantage of delivering a safer and more efficient chemical to be used in commodity products.

EcoSAF will be easy to produce at large scale giving it distinct advantages over other biobased products which are too expensive for widespread adoption or have poor performance in cleaning applications.

EcoSAF also delivers equal or better performance compared with petrochemical detergents in cleaning applications and is superior to current green solutions on the market.

Moreover the higher solubility in water allows us to increase the number of doses per unit of product decreasing further the cost, CO2 emissions and water consumption associated with the concentrated surfactant.
