On November 8, 2022, the MOU signing ceremony for Kiribati Scout Association (KSA) Office Building Renovation Project was held and was attended by HE Ambassador Tang Songgen, KSA President Martin Tofinga, KSA board members and Nuati from Leading Build Company and witnessed by media colleagues. The KSA is an important organization in assisting the robust growth of youth.
Upon the request of KSA, the Chinese Embassy is very proud to provide 75,000 AUD to KSA for this renovation project and work with KSA to endeavor for a brighter future for Kiribati youth. The project was completed on March 2024. On March 15, 2024, a re-opening ceremony was held.
Chinese Ambassador to Kiribati Zhou Limin attended the re-opening ceremony of the office building for the Kiribati Boy Scouts Association. The new facility was an aid project provided by China to support youth development in Kiribati.
The ceremony was a high-profile event attended by Kiribati's President Taneti Maamau, First Lady Koroua Maamau, Transport Minister Taras Burn, Infrastructure Minister Willie Tokataake, as well as religious leaders, mayors, and representatives of the elderly.
