Grant Description
On July 22, 2022, the 12th Chinese medical team left for Papua New Guinea. The team consists of 10 members, including eight medical specialists.
The team will spend a year in Papua New Guinea providing medical assistance and working at Port Moresby General Hospital. The team departed from Papua New Guinea on October 15, 2023. On July 29, 2022, the team arrived in Papua New Guinea.
A welcome ceremony was held at Port Moresby General Hospital along with a farewell ceremony to celebrate the work of the 11th medical team upon their departure (see Record ID#89185).
China’s Ambassador to Papua New Guinea, Zeng Fanhua, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health of Papua New Guinea, CEO of Port Moresby General Hospital, and representatives of medical staff attended the event. 2022 is the 20th anniversary of China’s dispatch of a medical team to Papua New Guinea.
