In 2021 and 2022, the Chinese government donated several batches of Covid-19 vaccines to Vietnam.
On September 11, 2021, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi pledged to donate another 3 million doses of vaccines to Vietnam by the end of the year. On December 30, 2021, the 3rd batch of vaccines as well as 3,302,400 syringes arrived in Vietnam. On April 8, 2022, the Chinese and Vietnamese governments officially held a handover ceremony for the donation.
The donation was made by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and delivered by the government of Guangxi Autonomous Region.

According to the UNICEF COVID-19 Vaccine Market Dashboard, the price of a single Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine dose is $18 (https://www.oecd.org/officialdocuments/publicdisplaydocumentpdf/?cote=DCD/DAC/STAT(2022)33&docLanguage=En). As such, AidData has estimated the monetary value of the December 2021 donation as $54 million.
