Identification and Confirmation of routes to market and commercialisation of proven DRAI technology

Four million people live with sight loss in the UK, and more than 400,000 are registered as blind or partially sighted. With the right treatment at the right time, many cases are preventable. As an example, up to 98% of sight loss resulting from diabetes can be prevented by early detection and treatment. At present, wait times to confirm an initial evaluation can be up to 3 months, with the inherent risk this wait time introduces to a patients immediate and ongoing eye health.

Our technology has the potential to revolutionise the way professionals carry out eye tests and could lead to earlier detection, treatment and/or prevention of common eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration through a readily available eye test being partnered with our award-winning software solution.

This project will allow us to clearly define not only the purchaser and end-user cost but also the people benefit to the NHS and to the wider economy/society and will also allow us to ensure our ground-breaking technology seamlessly integrates into the existing eye health care ecosystem.
