On November 2, 2022, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese President Xi Jinping signed an agreement to provide meteorological equipment to Pakistan to help forecast future environmental changes and natural disasters. The agreement was signed in response to severe flooding in Pakistan.
