Grant Description

Target Intelligent Response (Target) is a UK innovating SME with founder and Project Leader Nigel Melling.

Target is aiming to develop an AI-enabled thermal monitoring cover for fire safety outlets (mist nozzles/sprinkler heads) with green power back-up.

By preventing the accidental discharge of or wilful interference with sprinkler systems and using AI to monitor the ambient temperature, detect fires then deliver a bespoke activation, Target's product will improve fire safety in buildings.

This will reduce the high number of fire-related deaths and serious burn injuries, the treatment of which costs the NHS millions of pounds annually.

It will also use significantly less water than existing solutions, which both reduces the likelihood of water damage and benefits the environment.
