Grant Description

Application for £35K funding for a customer insights study of Generation Z (Gen-Z, those born 1995-2019) to test different visual and audio solutions to layer VFX eSports/video-game environments in the background of live combat sports and enable viewers to watch combat sports in a new medium: extended reality (XR). This will lead to significantly improved content viewing experiences, as well as additional benefits of social world & community building experiences in XR.

The human-centred market study will be undertaken in a controlled market study environment with online focus groups/surveys and will aim to learn about the behaviours and interests of the target audience, measure how much the target audience is willing to watch this new content niche and use different monetisation streams. It will discover the target audience preferred: XR environment design types, audio/music design types, relatable talent choices, combat sport format choices, world building & community experience, buying preferences.

A rapid low-cost product prototype will be designed upon the completion of the market study groups, that fits its purpose to completely disrupt the market segment of live combat sports streaming for Gen-Z. The prototype content will be market validated on social media, so that traction can be gained and GloryXR can obtain private funding for commercial exploitation of the idea.
