On June 20, 2022, China and Equatorial Guinea held a letters of exchange signing ceremony for agricultural technical assistance activities for Niefang Pilot Farm in Niefang. The notes were signed by Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea Qi Mei and Equatorial Guinea Foreign Minister Oyono.
Through this agreement, China undertakes to send twelve agricultural experts to Equatorial Guinea to work on the aforementioned project for a period of two years.
Its mission will be to carry out on-the-ground training and dissemination tasks on planting and processing techniques for various crops; from rice, corn, soybeans, through different vegetables, to cassava using modern materials, provided by the Chinese side.
The project, which continues in the city of Nze Bokung, will enjoy full financing from the government of this Asian country, through the economic and technical cooperation agreement reached between both parties five years ago. In April 2024, the experts arrived in Niefang City and started the assistance program.
