Grant Description

On August 27th, 2021, Ambassador to Malawi Liu Hongyang met with Khumbize Chiponda, the Malawian Minister of Health. During the meeting he stated that the Chinese government would be donating 300,000 Chinese-made vaccines to Malawi.

This intent was reiterated in an article Liu Hongyang wrote for the Malawian newspaper the Daily Times in December 2021. Whether or not the vaccines ended up being donated is unknown.
