The Coronavirus pandemic has expedited the need for effective remote working and learning solutions.
HURDLE is a new breed of live online training tool, specifically developed for organisations involved in teaching IT systems. It is optimised to replicate a real-world computer lab environment in an online setting.
Using the currently available technology, the process of teaching IT usually involves an instructor sharing their screen, with no opportunity to physically check that learners are following along and understanding the lesson.
HURDLE is designed to remove all barriers from online learning, to create an engaging, interactive and effective learning environment. It includes innovative features to enable trainers to validate the learning, check how all their students are progressing, and assist where required, just as they would in a real-world computer lab. It is also designed to be easy to use for the students, requiring no specialist software, skills, or superfast internet connection, just a normal computer.
This project will see HURLDE developed from the prototype stage and initial trials, through a wide scale pilot, and finally scaled up for national and international roll out, hugely expanding the possibilities for remote learning, for the benefit of all training facilitators and students in a post-COVID world.
The aim of this project is to perform a wider scale pilot of the software, develop and refine our applications form and function based on feedback from the pilot, and develop a business case for future scaling of the business in order to capitalise on the projected growth in e-learning.
